Microsoft® FrontPage® 2000 Component (Management) Support with Iserv's Web Hosting Services

Because Web sites are dynamic and change frequently Microsoft has included site management components in Microsoft FrontPage® 2000 that allow you to "produce" your Web site much more efficiently.  You can produce Web pages which update themselves at scheduled intervals or develop your Web site as components.  Take a look.

Web Page Include
With FrontPage 2000 you can easily reduce the time it takes to produce a Web page by inserting Web pages into a single page.

For instance, most sites have continuing "themes" within them.  The headers and footers typically are consistent throughout a Web site.  There are several ways of developing a single page from components.  The problem is that different methods create compatibility concerns as well as management headaches.  Anyone who has worked with Frames understands the difficulty of managing the various headers, footers, and bodies that are used, not to mention trying to figure out what frame to update and what not to update.

The Page Include component makes the process of producing pages faster with fewer headaches.  Create the page components you need to include, then place the  components (headers, footers, etc.)  in the Web page.  Any changes you need to be made can be made to the Include HTML and effect the changes will be reflected on all the pages on the site.

Scheduled Images
Have you ever wanted to let the world know about a special event, but hated being the one who had to stick around the office to update the Web page for it?  With the Scheduled Images component of FrontPage 2000 you no longer need to!

Scheduled Images allows you the Web developer to schedule the placement and timing of images to coordinate with upcoming events and then to turn themselves off when that event is complete.  Images can be scheduled for day, date, and time.  If you want to kick off a special offer program on your Web site while your on vacation, you only need to schedule the images to run during the offer period and have fun while your on vacation!

Scheduled Pages
Do you want to schedule a whole page for a event, again, with FrontPage 2000 you can!  This allows you to increase the functionality of your site.   More importantly, it reduces the amount of time you spend managing your site because of specific events throughout the year.

Similar to the Scheduled Images, Scheduled Pages can be setup to run on a specific day, specific time, and a specific date.  In addition, you can have the Scheduled Page replace a previous page during that time period.  So if your company is planning on kicking of that Special Promotion, you can rest assured while your on vacation that they're seeing the correct page.

You can even combine the two to have a page run during a specific period of time, and independent graphics run during their own intervals.   So in the case of our company promotion, you can have a Scheduled Page with Special Sale prices, featuring a daily product special.  Think of the possibilities!

FrontPage 2000 also gives you the option of using other ActiveX, JavaScript, VBScript, or Java objects to add a multitude of other options and to make your site more functional.
